All Day Play Day - Girls Volleyball Clinic
Updated on 06/10/2022
Wednesday August 9th, girls from the Reading School District and Antietam School District participated in an "All Day - Play Day" for all girls interested in learning and or playing girls volleyball. With the from Klein Transportation Services located in Douglassville, PA, Antietam female students from Mt. Penn, Stoney Creek, Pennside, and Lower Alsace were able to travel to the historical Geigle Gymnasium located at Reading Senior High School.
Any female who had nothing to do but wanted to learn how to play girls volleyball or simply test their talent, was able to freely participate in this clinic. "As Coaches, we try to provide many opportunities at various venues for any student athlete willing to learn and play. During the off-season, this is a moment to collect yourself free from any type of stress or burden. As a teacher, having fun is the best way to learn something new." Coach Andrieux
Coach Gomez of Reading and Coach Andrieux of Antietam met to plan a full day of volleyball play between both school districts. With over 60 girls coming from grades 7 through 12 between both districts, girls were playing. With no referees, no scorekeepers, no flag holders, and no game recorders, our girls were able to really enjoy themselves, learn, try new things, gain confidence, and be rewarded with a wonderful experience. Both coaches are already planning next year's "All Day - Play Day, Girls Volleyball Clinic with the hopes of adding two more school districts.
